Yonex-Sunrise Indonesia Grand Prix Gold 2013

We were soooooo excited!!!! On Sunday, September 29th 2013, we got a chance to see the final of Yonex-Sunrise Indonesia Grand Prix Gold 2013, held in GOR Amongrogo, Yogyakarta.

our tickets!

Before the games began, we bought some souvenirs.

a t-shirt souvenir from this event. I really want to buy this, actually...
This is a kind of little bag where you can put your phone or your coins.
We didn't buy this, though we really want the red/white and the purple/yellow one.
Can you believe that this is a bag?

The Yonex bag, unpackaged.

Handbags from Yonex, purple and black color. The bags are big, we can put almost anything, even balloons!

Balloons, red and purple.

I love the balloons. They look like an eggplant and a chili. Kate wanted the red one, so Helga bought the purple one.

They also sold many pictures of athletes outside the building.

And then we came in into the building. We took the highest seat in the GOR. We can see everything from there.

Our view from the highest seat.
Two mixed double pairs, practicing before the game.
The athletes were awesome!! They played very well, even though they had to fight their own friends. Yes, from five games, three of the games are all-Indonesian final. And the other two was between China (all-China final happened in women's singles and women's doubles).

The first game was between Tontowi Ahmad/Lilyana Natsir and Praveen Jordan/Vita Marissa, both pairs are from Indonesia. We had a lot of fun watching this game, especially Helga, she suddenly love Owi (Tontowi's nickname) so much. The winner of this match is Praveen/Vita.

Owi is ready to serve, Praveen/Vita are ready to defence.
But what Kate anticipated most is the last game, men's singles, where the match was between Simon Santoso and Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka. Kate was so excited because she is Simon's fan.

Simon Santoso is doing jumping smash! Awesome!

Hayom, didn't want to lose, doing jumping smash, too!
netting by Simon
the crowd. everybody shouting 'Simon!' or 'Hayom!' or 'INDONESIA!"
game is over!

AAANNNDD SIMON WON THE GAME!!! I'm soooo happy. He beated Hayom in two matches, 21-17 , 21-11. He got the Indonesia Grand Prix Gold title for men's singles!!
